Yes, examinees will have multiple opportunities to test out the exam software before exam day. In August 2025, NCBE released a NextGen UBE exam software preview where examinees can test out the features and tools they will use on exam day. Prior to exam day, all NextGen examinees will be required to download the secure testing browser they’ll use to take the exam onto their laptops and complete a pre-exam tutorial. This tutorial serves two functions: it confirms that laptops meet the technical specifications for the exam and familiarizes examinees with the secure testing browser’s features and functionalities.
